Our Staff

Please meet some of our staff...they are special people!
DeVona Cordell
Daycare Director

Hello, my name is DeVona Cordell and I am the director at Jack & Jill Daycare. I grew up in the Chambersburg area and went to CASHS. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have 2 grown children (Justin & Jerika), I am proud to say that I am a first time grandma to our precious grandson Wyatt who is 10 months old. We are hoping that he calls us “Lolli” and “Pop” (LOLLIPOP) because they are fun names. Wyatt brings such joy to our lives and we are cherishing every day we have to watch him grow and learn.

I felt a call to pastoral ministry while attending the Shippensburg Church of the Nazarene.  After 4 years of pastoral training/ schooling I was ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 2007. I received have my associate’s degree in Early Childhood from Harrisburg Area Community College in 2013 I have taught all ages of children over the years and have been blessed to see some of these children grow up and remember me as “Pastor DeVona”.

I love my job and seeing the children each day and I appreciate the staff and all the hard work they do to prepare these children for school. Their dedication to the children and families is evident in their interactions with the children. We strive at Jack & Jill Daycare to have a safe educational environment for children.

Nancy Tate

Nancy is married with 2 adult children, one who lives locally and another going to college in Seattle. She is originally from Maine where she graduated from Husson College a long, long time ago with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

She moved to the Shippensburg area in 2004, and has attended the Shippensburg Church of the Nazarene basically since then.   She started working for Jack & Jill Daycare as a substitute teacher in 2007. Now she takes works in the office as a master of all trades as well as assisting in the various classrooms as needed.

Courtney Shaffer
Teacher

My name is Cortney Shaffer and this is my 5th year teaching Pre-Kindergarten at Jack & Jill Daycare.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. It has been said, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” I try to remember this every day with my kids. Outside of work, I am a Zumba Instructor at Studio Z. I love to dance.

Growing up I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, but now I read books to kids instead of stuffed animals.

Tric Dille
Lead Teacher

Tric Dille is the Group Supervisor (Lead Teacher) for Jack and Jill Daycare’s 2 year old class also called “Buddy Bears.” This is a vastly changing age when children will learn and grow a thousand different ways; from more vocabulary to self-help skills, small and large motor development, and toilet training.

Tric first got the bug to teach while in high school where she had the opportunity to help 1st graders practice their reading skills at the local elementary school. Since then she has been involved with children from babysitting as a teen, creating a home-based daycare, teaching at Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Church Camp, Head Start, and has been at Jack and Jill for over 13 years. Tric is passionate about J&J’s Christian Based Childcare program because it gives her the chance to live out her faith. At J&J she has had the opportunity to help develop and implement major building renovations, and the infants and young toddlers program. She has worked with all ages here at J&J and has many fond memories of watching these children grow into fine young people.

God has blessed Ms. Tric with a wonderful husband, four talented daughters, three incredible grandchildren, and a great son-in law. She loves spending time with her family, reading, harvesting food and flowers from her garden, although gardening can be quite a chore. Thank goodness her hubby helps. She lives with a view of the Conodoguinet Creek and loves to watch the wildlife. As a long-time member of Ship Nazarene she considers this community to be her extended family.
